Lyrical is a combination of jazz, ballet and modern techniques. Lyrical dance is expressive, subtle, and interpretive and in many ways lyrical reflects the actual lyrics of the song being danced to. Lyrical encourages students to develop a stronger sense of their own artistic expression. Emphasis is placed on control, extensions, and emotions. Ballet and jazz are recommended for students who wish to take a lyrical class.
